Siminsights is helping organise a AR/VR workshop at USC

Augmented and Virtual Reality Applications in Manufacturing Workshop 9AM to 4PM on Friday, October 25, 2019 Center for Advanced Manufacturing

Overview

Augmented and Virtual Reality technologies can be leveraged by the manufacturing community
to improve operations in a wide variety of ways. Traditional applications included operator training
and design visualization. Recent applications include human and machine interactions. The advent
of low-cost solutions in these areas is expected to accelerate the rate of adoption of these
technologies in the manufacturing sector. This workshop will focus on recent development in the
area of augmented and virtual reality technologies and applications of these technologies in
advanced manufacturing applications.

Topics covered will include:

  • Overview of AR/VR Technologies
  • Overview of Modeling and Level of Detail Control
  • Overview of Authoring Tools
  • Industry Case Studies
  • Software Demonstration
