UCLA Health trains clinicians with VR simulations

The challenge

UCLA Health needed to prepare large numbers of clinicians for threats such as emerging infectious diseases.

What we built

• Emerging infectious disease preparedness simulations, including PPE donning and doffing, waste management, spill response, patient sample handling and decedent management.
• Training and assessment versions for C. diff. standard operating procedures for registered nurses, with a performance score.
• Three VR chaperone training simulations, built from 360-camera images of a UCLA clinic. A feedback panel shows ideal responses, scores answers and measures learner confidence.

The result

Thousands of clinicians receive mandatory AI-powered training every year, delivered through LMS integration.
