SimInsights was featured in an industry keynote talk delivered by Dr. DP Prakash, co-CEO of Youtopian and a semiconductor industry leader (ex- GlobalFoundries and IBM), at the Ansys IDEAS conference, Dec 6th, 2022. Dr. Prakash’s talk focused on applications of metaverse for the semiconductor industry (“Semiverse”). He highlighted a number of technologies, products and applications that can promise to deliver 10-100x acceleration across the semiconductor industry.

This keynote talk and others like it highlight the potential of AR, VR and AI technologies for innovation in training, certification and workforce development in semiconductor manufacturing. The so-called “Semiverse” is a part of the broader “Metaverse for Skills”. The Metaverse for skills is a collection of VR/AR simulation based assessments and training modules targeting a range of careers. Such a collection will add societal value by expanding access promoting equity which are fundamental for equipping the workforce with in-demand skills today and in the future.
