Session Title

Immersive, AI-powered Career Exploration for Equity and Access for Youth in California

Presentation Description

Schools struggle to find qualified teachers and well-equipped labs and training facilities to provide rich career exploration opportunities to students. In this talk, we will share the results of a collaborative endeavor between SimInsights, an Irvine based edtech company, and CCA at San Juan Capistrano Unified School District, which led to a new VR/AR/AI-powered product for career exploration.

Presentation Style

Lecture Style – 50 %
Interactive Style – 50 % (VR demos)

In addition to the presentation, SimInsights will also have a booth on the exhibit floor.  Please visit our booth for hands-on demonstrations of SimInsights software products Skillful and HyperSkill and discussions to learn more about how VR and AI technologies can drive student engagement, enrollment, career exploration and even internships.

SimInsights team will bring a variety of VR and AR devices, including Oculus Quest and Microsoft Hololens, to this event. It is worth noting that all of the simulations being demonstrated have been created using the no-code authoring functionality within HyperSkill, which means that teachers and students can not only experience the simulations, but they can also edit them, and even create their own customized variations. We believe that school districts should not be restricted to being only consumers of content but should be given the opportunity to create their own simulations, if they have the desire to do so.

Skillful site license is priced at $149 per month and supports an unlimited number of VR/AR headsets, as well as an unlimited number of students. Skillful catalog contains over 100 virtual reality simulations, including Generative-AI powered simulations (see full catalog here). Skillful simulations are cross platform, meaning that they can be launched on web, desktop, iPad as well as VR/AR devices. New simulations are being released at the rate of over 10 simulations per month and our team is actively seeking to partner with educators about which simulations they would like to have for their classrooms.
