The Student AI Summit seeks to change that narrative. This summit serves as a platform for these young visionaries to showcase their ideas, challenge the status quo, and inspire a new wave of AI innovation and ethical consideration. It’s a celebration of the potential that students hold in driving forward the frontiers of technology and society.
We at SimInsights agree with this. It is vitally important to engage students with AI technology. Why? Put simply, the pace of development of technology is outstripping the ability of organizations to respond. Students by their nature are agile, dynamic and adaptive and should be given the opportunity to engage with AI rather than waiting for curricular reform and organizational acceptance which, as we all know, has historically taken years or even decades. With AI, we just don’t have that luxury of time, given the profound impact and international competitive dynamics.
SimInsights, an Orange County based leader in AI/XR powered education and training, has been at the forefront of these technologies since 2017. Funded by the National Science Foundation Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, the team has developed Hyperskill. a no-code AI/XR platform. In 2023, HyperSkill version 2.0 was launched in an inaugural event called Next Gen Workforce at UCI Beall Applied Innovation in Irvine. SimInsights also offers Skillful, an AI/XR immersive platform for career exploration. Skillful was built using HyperSkill and was launched at the Educating for Careers conference in Sacramento, CA in a 90 minute professional development session.
SimInsights is excited about this movement in Orange County and is supporting students, teachers and districts with hands-on tools, curriculum, content, professional development and training. In fact, our team recently organized a 90 minute professional development session at the Educating for Careers conference in Sacramento with the executive director of the ROP at College and Career Advantage (CCA) at Capistrano Unified School District. In addition, we have participated in student career fairs and conferences in Washington DC, Boston, Oregon, Las Vegas, San Francisco, San Jose, Fresno, Los Angeles, Pasadena City College, Pomona, Long Beach, Capistrano Unified, James Madison High School, San Diego, University of North Texas, University of Memphis, as well as enterprise such as Meta and CraneMorley, TechConnect, Association for Training Development (ATD), all with the objective of making students aware of the opportunities in the field of AI and XR. Our work in AI has also been highlighted in the Orange County Business Journal and been awarded by DARPA and AVA Digital.
At the Student Convening, SimInsights representatives will exhibit their software products, share opportunities for teachers and students to engage with the company in a variety of ways including consulting, pre-apprenticeships, apprenticeships and internships, and specifically discuss academic cost efficiencies, industry training and preparation, and industry benefits.
SimInsights is one of the few companies that serves both the enterprise and education sectors.
